사진속 말 여행길은, 필리핀의 따가이따이City 에 위치한 호수안의호수. 따알, 혹은 타알 화산입니다. 구글맵으로 내려다보면 비현실적이적인 호수안의 호수. 라는 단어의 조합이 조금은 현실로 느껴집니다. 네 저는 저안의 작은 호수까지 배를 타고 말을 타고 다녀왔습니다. 

 Taal Volcano is a complex volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It is situated between the towns of Talisayand San Nicolas in Batangas. It consists of an island in Lake Taal, which is situated within a caldera formed by an earlier, very powerful eruption. It is located about 50 km (31 miles) from the capital, Manila. It is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines, all part of the Pacific ring of fire.

The volcano has erupted violently several times, causing loss of life in the populated areas surrounding the lake, the current death toll standing at around 5,000 to 6,000. Because of its proximity to populated areas and eruptive history, the volcano has been designated a Decade Volcano worthy of close study to prevent future natural disasters. It was thought to be named as "a volcano inside a volcano" because many believed that the lake that circles the volcano was once a crater or mouth of a volcano.

The Batangas province towns along the shores of Taal Lake include Tanauan, Talisay, Laurel, Agoncillo, San Nicolas, Santa Teresita, Alitagtag, Cuenca, Lipa, Balete and Mataas na Kahoy.^[1] The extinct crater on Volcano Island is also visible along high property value Tagaytay Ridge for visitors coming from Manila or enroute the Batangas coast and ports to the South.  (via wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taal_Volcano)

타알 화산은 필리핀의 루존에 위치한 휴화산이다. 수억 년 전 화산 폭발후  길이 2-30km, 폭 20km에 이르는 따알 호수-Taal Lake 가 형성되었고, 1977년 다시 화산 폭발이 일어나 화산 분화구 안에 다시 작은 분화구가 생겼다. 새로이 형성된 중심 분화구를 따알화산(Taal Volcano)이라 하는데, 현재도 주기적으로 폭발이 일어나 화산학자들의 주 이슈이다고 있다. 중심 분화구 안에는 연기가 솟는 호수가 있는데, 이를 보려는 관광객들 대부분이 말을 타고 올라간다. 주변에 필리핀 대통령 영부인 이멜다가 별장으로 사용했다는 피플스팍이 있다.
